Investigation

by | Aug 30, 2015 | Investigation

The investigation process can span from anytime between a few days to even a year or longer.

It is always advisable to co-operate with the police and provide your full assistance at earliest possible instance. It is also prudent to inform the investigating officer of any witnesses or alibi.

Upon completion of investigations, the investigating officer will hand the case file over to the Prosecution before a final decision on whether or not to charge a suspect is made.

If the Prosecution decides to formalise the charge, the investigating officer will contact the suspect to make a trip to the police station. At the police station, the charge will be read and the accused will be asked if he admits or does not admit to the charge.
